Saturday Report (6.27.09):
Team Enterprise Automation/Malcolm-Racing brought home their first win of 2009, in Performance Touring - PTD, on
Saturday at the June NASA event at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, in Buttonwillow, CA. In qualifying, driver Derrick
Malcolm turned in a lap of 2:15.4 which qualified the team 1st in class. As the green flag fell on the race, Malcolm got
a great jump on the start. This put the team well into the class lead and past several upper classed cars. Malcolm kept
the Team Enterprise Automation/Malcolm-Racing Nissan Sentra SE-R out of trouble in a particularly eventful race and
posted a fast lap of 2:15.7. In addition to the action on the track the team battled the weather on and off the track
with the temperature peaking at 107 °F.
Sunday Report (6.28.09):
Team Enterprise Automation/Malcolm-Racing earn second class win of 2009, in Performance Touring - PTD, on Sunday at
the June NASA event at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, in Buttonwillow, CA. In qualifying, driver Derrick Malcolm turned in a
quick lap of 2:14.0 which qualified the team 1st in class. For the majority of Sunday's race, Malcolm chased a PTC Mazda
RX8 around the circuit while posting a fast lap of 2:16. The team was almost challenged more by the weather than class
competition with the temperature peaking at 110 °F on Sunday. Malcolm said he has never been hotter or more fatigued
during a race in his career.
